Mill Creek Trails

Mill Creek Park offers a wonderful trail system for all ages of outdoor enthusiasts, with over five miles of natural trails to enjoy. The trail system consists of four trails which offer unique scenic routes with views of a variety of natural beauty, wildlife, and terrain. Two of the trails are handicap accessible.

The recently updated color-coded trail signage includes clearly marked 1/8 mile increments with 99.8+% precision accuracy. Included on each sign are QR codes for easy access to educational biographies and photos of local wildlife in the park from your hand-held device. The trails offer a must see, after a picnic or camping, of grasslands, prairie, woodlands, and wetlands in Mill Creek Park.

The lake area is an official wildlife refuge. Do not collect firewood, other vegetation, or wildlife. There is limited access to some areas due to hunting in the park or adjacent areas during some hunting seasons. Please respect posted signs. If you notice anything of concern while on a trail, please report to occb@obriencounty.iowa.gov or call 712.295.7200. For emergencies, always dial 911.
