Emerald Ash Borer

Adult beetles are about ¼ inch long and is named for their metallic green color.

EAB is an invasive species discovered in the United States in 2002. It has spread through Iowa in recent years. O’Brien County was added to the list of Iowa counties with confirmed infestation in 2022.

 EAB is most commonly spread by the transportation of firewood from other areas. Iowa has not made the transportation of firewood illegal, but it is recommended that you buy wood from where you are going to burn it.
