The Gobblin’ Ghosts Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation is holding their annual Women in the Outdoors event at Lake Pahoja in Lyon County this year. This is a wonderful opportunity for women ages 14 and up to enjoy the comradery and support of other ladies as they learn new skills. Those youth ages 14-17 are asked to attend with an adult. There is no upper age limit … you are never too old to try new things!
The event is co-hosted by the Conservation Boards of Lyon, O’Brien, Osceola and Sioux Counties. It will be held on Saturday, September 10 beginning at 8:00 a.m. and lasting until 4:30 p.m. Pre-registration is encouraged.
Presentations for the day include Dutch Oven Cooking, Buzz of Bees, Paddle boarding, Tour of Blood Run Historical Landmark, and Wild Edibles.
The $45 registration fee includes a National Wild Turkey Federation membership, subscription to the Turkey Federation magazine, door prizes, all activities and a noon meal. If you are already a WITO member, inquire about a discount.
