Celebrate spring with the Wings and Wetlands Festival!
O’Brien County Events:

7:30 a.m. – Breakfast with the Birds – Prairie Heritage Center

Enjoy a cup of coffee and a muffin to get your day started.
Then see how many migrating songbirds can be spotted in just a short walk.  Often over 50
species can be counted!  The group will also carpool to Wanata to identify
more woodland birds.

11:00 a.m. – Wildflower Adventure – Bertram Reservation (Hwy 10 east of
Peterson to 140th Avenue.  Go north approximately ½ mile)

Take a stroll to look for spring wildflower.  Enjoy the sights and sounds of SPRING!

2:00 p.m. – Hurray for Herps – Prairie Heritage Center

Experience a hands-on encounter with native reptiles and amphibians.  Then, hit the trail
in search of some of these animals.

5:00 p.m. – Prairie Evening Stroll – Waterman Prairie South (From Hwy 10 go
south on Wilson Avenue approximately 1 ½ miles)

Savor a treat for your senses as you step back in time on a piece of Iowa’s History – the
tallgrass prairie.  Enjoy the plants, birds, and animals that burst onto the scene in the late afternoon.
