Imagine living in a place where there were very little trees, and lots of tall grasses and large grazing animals around you. That’s how Iowa used to be. Join the naturalist intern at Prairie Heritage Center, Meara Hansen, to learn about the tallgrass prairie and how early settlers lived in Iowa. This land was very different than what the settlers were used to living on. They had to be very innovative and hardy to survive on the prairie. You’ll learn about animal and plant life as well.
Program is free to the public. Come experience a program about pioneer life Saturday, June 20 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lodge at Mill Creek Park. For further information, contact the O’Brien County Conservation Board at 712-295-7200.
