All summer a random monarch has been floating past. Soon those single
butterflies will gather in MASS. Millions of monarchs will be on the move.
The O’Brien County Conservation Board is hosting their annual monarch
tagging event at Mill Creek Park on Thursday, September 3 beginning at 5:30
p.m.
Bring your butterfly net or borrow one of ours! Meet at the lodge for a
short program on monarchs, their life story and amazing migratory journey.
Then hit the trail for a citizen science project. Participants will be
placing small tags on the butterflies’ wings which will allow data to be
returned to scientists studying the monarch migration.
Come and be a part of this event! Call the Prairie Heritage Center –
712-295-7200 for more information.
