The “Can You Canoe?” event held by the O’Brien County Conservation Board is a popular way to learn a new skill or experience one you enjoy! The Conservation Board naturalist staff is offering an entry level experience to the canoe and kayak world. The event – “Can You Canoe?” – will be held on Thursday, June 11 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Mill Creek Park near Paullina.
Both canoes and kayaks will be available at this event. If you haven’t had an opportunity to try out these recreational vessels, this would be a great opportunity to experience them.
The Conservation Board will provide paddles, canoes, kayaks, and life vests. All participants need to bring is their sense of adventure! The program will begin with some canoeing and kayaking basics. Then, people will glide into the lake to put their knowledge to the test.
The program is free to all. There are a limited number of vessels; so be prepared to share time on the lake with others. There will be plenty of time for participants to enjoy the experience. Please contact the Prairie Heritage Center at 712-295-7200 for more information.
