The “Can You Canoe?” event held by the O’Brien County
Conservation Board is a popular way to learn a new skill or experience one
you enjoy! The Conservation Board naturalist is offering an entry level
experience to water recreation.  You can try out a canoe, kayak and even a
stand up paddle board at this event.   “Can You Canoe?”will be held on
Thursday, June 16 beginning at 6:30 p.m at Mill Creek Park near Paullina.
An additional opportunity to try out this equipment will be held on Monday,
June 27 at 6:30 p.m. also at Mill Creek Park.

Canoes, kayaks and paddle boards will be available at this
event.  If you haven’t had an opportunity to try out these recreational
vessels, this would be a great opportunity to experience them.

The Conservation Board will provide all of the equipment
necessary for the activities.  Participants need only to bring is their
sense of adventure!  The program will begin with some paddling basics.  Then
people will glide into the lake to put their knowledge to the test.

The program is free to all.  There are a limited number of
vessels; so be prepared to share time on the lake with others.  There will
be plenty of time for participants to enjoy the experience.  Please contact
the Prairie Heritage Center at 712-295-7200 for more information.  Help the
Prairie Heritage Center celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2016!
