Winter is a wonderful time of year to spot Bald Eagles in the Little Sioux
River Valley. This year the Winter Bird Festival will focus on the national
symbol.
Learn about the history of Bald Eagles in Iowa and also about citizen
science projects. Participants will then join in carpooling along the
Little Sioux River counting eagles as part of the annual Bald Eagle Survey.
This event is scheduled for Saturday, January 9 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30
p.m. There will be a short program inside the nature center prior to
carpooling along the survey route.
For more information about the event, contact the O’Brien County
Conservation Board at 712-295-7200.
