remember when seeing a bald eagle was a rare occurrence.  While viewing one
has become a bit more common, still the chance to observe this beautiful
bird – especially closely – is a marvelous opportunity.

Saving Our Avian Resources (SOAR) is an Iowa non-profit organization
dedicated to saving avian resources through raptor rehabilitation, education
and research.  SOAR has done extensive work with Bald Eagle populations
within our area and our state.

On Sunday, April 10 at 2:00 p.m., representatives from SOAR will be
conducting a Bald Eagle release at the Prairie Heritage Center – 4931 Yellow
Ave, Peterson Iowa.  A rehabilitated juvenile bird will be released back
into the wild.  This event will be an excellent opportunity to take part in
a special moment in the care of this bird as well as a chance to learn more
about Bald Eagle populations.

You won’t want to miss this special event!  For more information about this
and other programming offered by the O’Brien County Conservation Board,
