Sunday, September 26th from 1:00-4:00 p.m.
Come-and-go indoor & outdoor archaeology presentations and outdoor activities.
1:00-1:30 p.m. | Timeline of Prehistoric Cultures of Northwest Iowa (Quinn Black – Sanford Museum & Planetarium)
1:30-2:00 p.m. | Glacial Trail Scenic Byway (Rebecca Castle Laughlin – Golden Hills RC&D)
2:00-3:00 p.m. | Evidence for Bison Butchering and use from the Joy Creek Major Site – 13PM7 (Cherie Haury-Artz – Office of the State Archaeologist)
3:00-3:30 p.m. | Remote Sensing and Effigy Mounds (Colin Betts – Luther College)
3:30-4:00 p.m. | Prehistoric Prairie Walk on the Experience Trail (Abbie Parker – Prairie Heritage Center)
Outdoor activities will include: Flintknapping, atlatl throwing, petroglyph sidewalk chalk, chunky stone game, bison jerky tasting, pottery puzzle, and more!
