Our campgrounds will open Friday, May 8 at 5:00 a.m. Please follow all of the guidelines outlined in our campground opening policy, and remember to respect social distancing and stay home if you’re sick! CAMPGROUND OPENING POLICY Campground will open at 5:00 a.m. May 8, 2020. Campers must use self-contained camper units ONLY. There is a 14-day limit for stay. There will be NO long-term campground use. Restrooms will remain closed. No trash receptacles are available. Pack out your trash.

Did you purchase camping coupons last year that are marked with an expiration date of October, 2020? If so, please note that those coupons will now be honored through October of 2021. We understand that some may not be able to make it this season due to COVID-19, so please stay home and take care of yourself if need be….your coupons will not go to waste!

AS OF MAY 14, 2020 – The O’Brien County Conservation Board’s lodge, cabins, restrooms, playgrounds and cabanas will remained closed until Friday, May 29, 2020. The Prairie Heritage Center will remain closed until Monday, June 1, 2020. These dates are subject to change based on the guidance provided to us by Governor Kim Reynolds. Parks and recreation areas will remain open for walk-in use. Groups will be limited to 10 people. Campsites are available for rent using self-contained camping units
If you’re looking for some fresh air and sunshine, the O’Brien County Conservation Board would like you to know that you are welcome to visit any of our areas and enjoy time spent outside! Even if the gates are shut, you may still walk in to our parks or recreation areas. Consider spending an afternoon at the Crosbie Wildlife and Nature Youth Center shooting archery! The 2020 Wings & Wetlands Festival that was scheduled to take place in May has been cancelled. We hope to see you in 2021!
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all playground equipment on O’Brien County Conservation Board areas is CLOSED and may not be used until further notice. Gatherings of 10 or more people are not permitted at any of our areas, and those visiting our areas must remain 6 feet apart from all others at all times.
For the safety of the public, we are continuing to keep our doors closed to visitors until May 15, 2020. Staff will still be working on site and remotely and can be contacted by phone or email at (712) 295-7200 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Public programs will be cancelled during this time. Camping as well as cabin and shelter reservations will also be suspended until May 15. Stay well!

Dr. Ross Dierks will be providing a special presentation about falcons at 2:00 p.m. Enjoy watching the birds, taking part in activities, and celebrating raptors at the Prairie Heritage Center on Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 9:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
The long-awaited opening of Douma Park has finally arrived! The park rangers and contractors have done an amazing job on the upgrade. Visitors will hardly believe that it is the same park!
