The Dan & Jean Struve Charitable Fund and Charitable Endowment Benefiting Prairie Heritage Center
O’Brien County Conservation Board on behalf of The Prairie Heritage Center announced on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 a generous donation from Gregg Daniel Struve. Mr. Struve recently introduced The Dan and Jean Struve Charitable Fund Benefiting Prairie Heritage Center and The Dan and Jean Struve Charitable Endowment Benefiting Prairie Heritage Center. Mr. Struve established both, through the Siouxland Community Foundation, with a donation of $100,000 dollars over the next three years and an additional pledge of $200,000, as part of his trust, to fully fund the endowment benefiting the Prairie Heritage Center.
This donation will provide funds for the Prairie Heritage Center to develop and enhance the environmental and conservation education, to help preserve and protect O’Brien County’s prairie heritage, through such things such as educational and interactive displays, exhibits, and educational materials. The Dan and Jean Struve Charitable Fund Benefiting Prairie Heritage Center is intended to be fully spent on a major redesign of the main gallery at the center over the next four years. The legacy endowment fund has been established to accept gifts. Gifts to the endowment will be permanently restricted and will provide for an annual distribution gift to the Prairie Heritage Center.
