Bald Eagle Watch: March 20, 2021
Join us at the Prairie Heritage Center on Saturday, March 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. as we celebrate our national bird. This is a come-and-go event where we will enjoy watching birds, have activities set-up for all ages, and learn more about these amazing birds.
At 11:00 a.m. Shelby County and Iowa Department of Natural Resources Naturalist, Christian Roelofs, will give a virtual presentation on Bald Eagles. Christina has worked with birds through the help of Kay Newman at SOAR. She started with a Screech Owl, Red-tailed Hawk, and in 2007 was able to get to permanently injured Bald Eagles. She has two in her care and they are used to educate people. You will get to virtually meet her female Bald Eagle!
Not able to attend in person? You can still join us virtually for the presentation at 11:00 a.m. Contact Abbie at 712-295-7200 or aparker@obriencounty.iowa.gov to register for the zoom link. We will live stream the presentation at the Prairie Heritage Center.
