Camping Season Coming Soon!

It is hard to believe that summer will soon be here!  The behind the scenes work has begun in our office and maintenance shop.  Our staff has started to prepare to offer the “best in class” service to our community and park patrons!

With the additional camping sites available at Douma, there are nearly 100 choices of sites to stay at in the county!  All of our campsites included 20/30/50 AMP service and water.  Dog Creek South and Douma have sewer service included at the sites.  Mill Creek Park and Douma Park have internet available in the park.  Now is the time to start planning your summer fun.  Be sure to include some time staying in one of our O’Brien County campgrounds!

Camping coupons are available for stays at Dog Creek and Mill Creek parks.  These can be purchased at our office, from the park rangers and from the campground hosts.  These booklets of ten allow patrons to receive a price reduction.  Pick up a booklet and stay with us often!

If camping seems to be “roughing it” too much, there are a variety of other options.  Two 6 person cabins are available both at Dog Creek North and at Mill Creek.  These cabins offer a roof over your head, heat/air conditioning and electricity.  They take some of the weather worries away from the camping experience.

Dog Creek South and Mill Creek also offer the full service accommodations with the Grain Bins and 12 person cabins.  These cabins include a kitchen and bathroom.  What a great way to spend time relaxing with family and friends!  Remember that cabin reservations can be made one calendar year in advance.  Weekends tend to fill up quickly!

If you are looking for a place to celebrate a gathering for family and friends, don’t forget that the lodge at Mill Creek Park offers space for this.  There is a space indoors for around 80 people with additional picnic tables outside.  A complete kitchen and outdoor grills make food service easier.  Consider this space for your next party!  Reservations for the lodge can also be made one calendar year in advance.

• October 19, 2020 – Mill Creek Lodge closes
• January 2, 2021 – Mill Creek 12 Person Cabins & Dog Creek Grain Bin Cabins close
