The John F. Muller Memorial Shelter House project on Scout Island has been completed!
The O’Brien County Conservation Board is pleased to announce the opening of a new shelter on Scout Island at Mill Creek Park in Paullina. The John F. Muller family of Paullina generously donated funds to renovate this shelter area frequently used by the Scouts for primitive camping outings during the summer months. We are sincerely grateful for their contribution! Mr. Muller was a valued member of the Paullina community serving as a City Council member, participating in Chamber of Commerce events and working with the American Legion, Lion’s Club and Boy Scout Council. The family hopes that the shelter will honor John’s memory and legacy in gathering people to enjoy the outdoors with good conversation, warmth and protection.
Stop by and see this awesome project if you find yourself in the Paullina area! Our office will resume taking reservations for the use of the Scout Island area on Monday, July 1, 2019. For more information, contact the O’Brien County Conservation Board at 712-295-7200.
