One of the exciting things happening this year which will take place in all six of the counties is a Wings and Wetlands Birdathon. A comprehensive brochure – “Birding the Iowa Prairie Lakes Region” – is slated for publication this year. This promotional piece includes a detailed map of the region and information about birding “hot spots” such as the four Bird Conservation Areas in the region as well as other locations. Grants have been received but additional matching funds are needed. The Wings and Wetlands Birdathon will raise money for this project.
The Birdathon is an exciting way for anyone interested in birding to support this project and to enjoy the recreational activity. Bird outings will take place throughout the Wings and Wetlands Weekend. Participants are invited to join in these events! A complete list of birds seen throughout the festival weekend will be compiled. Donors are invited to pledge per species seen or to make a general donation. All donations are tax-deductible.
We have 2 ways for you to be able to donate to the Birdathon, you may pledge per species or a pledge of support. Feel free to email us using the forms below to pledge per species or you may donate an amount using paypal or print the form and mail it to us.
