Douma Park Campground Opening This Spring

Douma Park Campground is slated to open for the season on Friday, April 24, 2020.  The federal grant process can seem endless.  In this case, it the wait was worth it.  Douma Park looks like a whole new place!

The restroom facility is a significant improvement.  The family style shower rooms and flush toilets are a dramatic change and will be greatly appreciated by campers and day users of the park!  The camping registration kiosk will also be located under the awning of this building.  After choosing a campsite, patrons are asked to pick up their camping envelope from this location.  The fee for camping will be $15.00 per night.

Another big improvement is the fourteen paved camping pads which include a patio area!  Get ready to pull your camper into a spacious site wired with 20/30/50 AMP service, water and sewer connections.

Then, head on down to the expanded beach area.  Loads of sand have been brought in to give the beach a fresh face lift.  Removal of brush from along the edge of the lake improves access to the water for fishing and other recreation.

Another change at the park will be the addition of campground hosts to assist campers with their needs.  The Conservation Board would like to welcome Monte and Angi Kramme to the summer staff.  Stop by to say hello to the new campground hosts, and take a look at all of the changes to the park!

The finishing touches will be completed after the snow melts.  All of these upgrades go a long way to improving the quality of life for residents and visitors of O’Brien County!  Plan to stay at Douma Park this summer!
